We are ardent learners, continuously honing our skills, tools and practices to ensure we as individuals and as a delivery team are performing to the best of our ability.

The role

We are excited to meet candidates who share our passion for all things project and product delivery related.

Our Delivery Team’s Mission

To provide clarity and build confidence with clients and colleagues about how the delivery team provides value across the end to end project lifecycle.

Why do we need a Delivery lead?

This is not a replacement role, but a new position. The context is that we have over 10 active projects in delivery with one of our clients. Whilst these projects already have support from our delivery team, We’re currently observing the following challenges starting to bubble up:

  • Inconsistent levels of service being provided across the portfolio
  • Fragmented and disconnected communication
  • Inconsistent reporting format and cadence
  • There are multiple stakeholders with different expectations that need to be managed

What we want instead

The opposite of that (we could list some bullets that are the inverse of the above bullets, but we trust you get the idea)!

When considering how best to solve the current challenges we found it useful to breakdown the things like this:

Backward looking skills

Proactively providing empirical data and information to clients to ensure they have full transparency across a number of dimensions:

  • People - leavers / joiners / skills gaps (exception only)
  • Budget - forecast vs actuals
  • Project milestones
  • Facilitate Monthly reviews / showcases

The assumption here is that this info would be able to be provided for individual projects and at a holistic view across the portfolio.

Day to day presence

  • Being a key point of contact / escalation for any ad-hoc client requests
  • Being a key point of contact / escalation for any ad-hoc project team requests
  • Proactively manage relationships with key stakeholders
  • Provide full transparency and management of existing project status, risks, issues, blockers to clients and colleagues

Being a key facilitator of successful short - mid term planning. Looking ahead to ensure:

  • We understanding the ongoing demand and requirements across existing projects, ensuring we have capability and capacity to meet these
  • Opportunity identification - when opportunities arise within the client for anything beyond the contracted work, you would surface these to the Reason leadership teams
  • We have quality baked into any new statements of work
  • We can help to staff and cost new projects

A successful candidate would likely have:

  • Brilliant communication skills and the ability to tailor your message to suit your audience’s needs
  • A rudimental technical understanding of web technologies and depth of understanding of the product/software development life cycle
  • Proven experience of delivering projects valued circa £500k+
  • Exceptional organisational skills & a detail orientated nature
  • Good knowledge of industry standard project and product management tools
  • Experience understanding and navigating cultural and organisational challenges
  • Demonstrable examples of how they apply agile values and principles

Nice to have

  • Experience working with Retail clients
  • Agency experience
  • Kanban certification (Please ask us about this if you interview)

Alternative job spec:

For any candidates with a preference for visual information, here’s something you might find easier to digest:

Our Values

What about Covid & flexible working?

Right now, we’re operating a blended remote working & in-person model, with the office open (with Covid-safe measures) for face to face meetings and for anyone who wants a change of scenery. We’ve given as much support as we can for people to work comfortably from home, and will continue to do this.

We’ll likely have a minimum number of days in the office (e.g. once or twice a week), probably aligned to specific project/client meetings, with flexibility to work elsewhere for the rest of the time.

So if you’re interested in the role but can only commit to come to the London office for a few days, don’t let this be a barrier - we’ll be happy to discuss your individual circumstances. And when it does become more common to head back into the office, you’ll be pleased to find:

  • space for collaboration and meeting pods for quietly joining remote/hybrid meetings
  • a pet-friendly & bike-friendly office
  • two huge roof terraces (for when it gets sunny)
  • fully-stocked company kitchen (request your favourite snacks!)
